— Seattle Sounders FC (@SoundersFC) December 2, 2020The revenge tour for FC Dallas continues tonight as they visit the team that knocked them out of the playoffs in 2019, the defending MLS Cup champions Seattle Sounders.
Seattle looked the part in their Round One win over LAFC as they won 3-1 thanks to their three-headed attack featuring MVP candidates Jordan Morris and Nicolas Loderio. Dallas on the other hand advanced in dramatic fashion by winning a shootout over the Portland Timbers.
Does Luchi Gonzalez and company have any more magic left in their tank? Time to find out.
FC Dallas notes:
FC Dallas against Seattle in the playoffs - Look, we all remember last year's epic 4-3 overtime win for the Sounders. We've tried to forget it but we can't. Still, like against Portland, FCD has a history against the Sounders in the post season as well. The series is pretty split with Seattle having the edge in a 3-2-2 record against Dallas.
All-Time against Seattle - Dallas has struggled in Seattle to get results. In 12 games, Dallas has gone 1-9-2, with eight goals to Seattle's 29.
Key player for FC Dallas - Matt Hedges - Let's face it, Seattle's attacking trio of Morris, Loderio and Raul Ruidiaz is going to be tough to beat. Locking any one of them down is not good enough and Hedges will need to lead his defensive group into controlling the tempo of tonight's game and keeping order in the back to not allow this three space to do what they do best.
